What you can expect from our work together...

Practical Tools You Can Use Right Away Therapy should create change beyond the therapy room.

You'll learn practical, evidence-based strategies that help you respond to your child's emotions and behaviors in ways that build connection, confidence, and cooperation. These are tools you can begin using immediately in everyday moments at home.

A Plan Designed for your Family No two families are the same.

Together, we'll identify the patterns, stressors, strengths, and dynamics that are shaping your family's experience. Then we'll create realistic, sustainable changes that fit your life and move you toward your goals.

Parent Partnership, Not Parent Replacement When your child is struggling, it's natural to hope someone else can "fix" the problem.

But lasting change happens when parents feel empowered, informed, and confident in how they respond. My role is to guide and support you as you develop the skills and understanding needed to lead your family through challenges with greater clarity and connection.

The Parallel Progress Method Traditional therapy often focuses only on helping the child.

The Parallel Progress Method recognizes that children grow within relationships. While your child develops emotional regulation, communication, executive functioning, and coping skills, you'll learn practical family systems strategies that reinforce those skills at home.

Because the most meaningful and lasting progress happens when parents and children grow together.

Progress that Extends Beyond the Session Real change happens in everyday life.

It happens during homework struggles, bedtime routines, difficult conversations, sibling conflicts, and stressful mornings.

By building skills that can be applied in real time, therapy becomes part of your family's daily life, creating lasting change that continues long after sessions end.

In Person or Virtual Appointments

Youth Appointments are typically more effective in person

Children ages 10-12

For children ages 10-12, I provide in-person therapy focused on helping them understand their emotions, develop coping skills, and build confidence.

Using age-appropriate activities, creativity, and conversation, we work together to strengthen emotional awareness and resilience while keeping parents involved so progress carries over into daily life.

Teen and Young Adult

The teen and young adult years bring unique challenges, transitions, and opportunities for growth.

Together, we'll work on emotional regulation, communication, confidence, executive functioning, decision-making, and resilience while helping them navigate increasing independence and responsibility.

Family Therapy

Strengthening family relationships through improved communication, emotional regulation, and practical problem-solving skills. Families gain tools and support that can be applied in everyday life, along with access to self-paced educational modules and follow-up discussions to help create lasting change at home.

Parallel Progress Method

Parents are an essential part of the change process. Through a combination of therapy, self-paced learning modules, and personalized support, you'll gain practical tools to better understand your child's behavior, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and respond with greater confidence. Follow-up sessions provide space to ask questions, troubleshoot challenges, and tailor strategies to your family's needs.

How long will I be in therapy?

Every family and individual is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. My approach is goal-oriented and focused on helping you build sustainable skills and lasting change. Together, we'll regularly evaluate your progress and determine when your goals have been met and therapy is no longer needed. My aim is meaningful progress, not endless therapy.

How frequently will I come to therapy?

The frequency of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Most families begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish new skills. As progress is made, sessions often transition to biweekly or monthly support to help maintain gains and navigate new challenges as they arise.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that family life is full and unpredictable — kids get sick, schedules shift, and unexpected things come up. If you need to cancel, I simply ask for 24 hours’ notice so I can offer your appointment time to another family who may be waiting. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee. When you do need to cancel, we’ll reschedule your appointment promptly so your care stays consistent.

If I ever need to cancel your appointment due to illness or an emergency, you won’t be charged, and we’ll reschedule as soon as possible. If I’m unable to give at least 24 hours’ notice, I’ll add a credit to your account. You can use that credit in the future to waive one late‑cancellation fee should you have an unexpected emergency of your own.

How long is each session?

Each session runs approximately 50 minutes unless otherwise arranged and will occur in my office near the Chesterfield-Town & Country area.

What if therapy isn't helping?

If therapy ever feels “off” or not as helpful as you hoped, please tell me. We can shift our focus, adjust the approach, or try something that better fits your needs. Your feedback is an important part of the process. If it turns out that a different type of support would serve you or your family better, I’ll help you find the right resources. My priority is making sure you’re getting the care that truly supports you.

How do I ensure our information is confidential?

Your privacy is extremely important to me. I use only HIPAA‑compliant platforms to protect your information: Sessions Health for secure records and messaging and Google Meet/Workspace (covered by a formal BAA) for encrypted telehealth sessions. Every part of your care is handled with confidentiality and security in mind.

Will I be involved in my child's therapy?

Yes. While every child's needs are different, I believe parents play a critical role in creating lasting change. Parents are regularly included through consultation, feedback, psychoeducation, and strategy development. My goal is to help children build skills while also equipping parents with the tools and understanding needed to support progress at home.

What are the Parallel Progress Modules?

The Parallel Progress Modules are self-paced educational courses designed to support parents alongside their child's therapy. These modules provide practical tools, family systems education, and strategies for navigating challenges such as emotional regulation, executive functioning, communication, anxiety, and family conflict.

Parents can complete the modules on their own schedule and revisit them whenever needed. Follow-up sessions provide opportunities to ask questions, apply concepts to your family's unique situation, and receive guidance on implementing strategies at home.

A foundational module is included as part of therapy to help parents understand the core principles of creating lasting family change. Additional modules covering more specific topics are available as optional add-ons, allowing families to access deeper learning and support based on their individual needs and goals.

What if my child doesn't want to come to therapy?

A child doesn't have to be excited about therapy for meaningful change to begin. In many cases, we can start by meeting with parents to better understand the challenges your family is facing, identify patterns that may be contributing to the problem, and develop practical strategies that can be implemented right away.

As trust and readiness develop, children are often more willing to engage in the process. My goal is never to force participation, but to create a safe, supportive environment where both parents and children feel understood and empowered.

Sometimes the first step in helping a child is helping the family system around them.

When parents gain clarity and children gain skills, families create lasting change together.
